About out Guest

Kali - singer, songwriter and entrepreneur.
The public has seen and heard of various music artists, but none as unique as her. A native of Los Angeles, California, Kali was born Moniece Slaughter, the oldest of three children. Moniece was brought up in a family full of talent; raised and mentored by her Step Father, Dave Thomas one-sixth of the Grammy Award winning group, Take 6 and Mother, Marla Thomas. Moniece quickly learned to play the drums and guitar in Dave’s home studio. At the ripe age of 14, Moniece began her professional singing career.
One year later singer/songwriter Brandy Norwood discovered Moniece and too“Kali” under her wings. With such an advantage Kali was afforded the opportunity to focus on perfecting her craft at a very young age.
In 2003 Kali joined an all girls R&B singing group, Rhapsody. They were offered a deal with Clive Davis' mega label Jive Records. After leaving the group she began the pursuit of her solo career. To her surprise she went on to sing the theme song for the hit television show America's Next Top Model. She's gone on to write songs for the likes of Marques Houston and Akon. While at Konlive (Akon's production company) Kali wrote and co-produced her 1stSolo mix tape titled "SlaughterHouse."
In addition to her work as a singer/songwriter, Moniece has appeared numerous times on stage as a host and performer in LA and Las Vegas. In her spare time, she runs her own business, Wet Coast Exotics, LLC.
